This cruiser was exported from the USA to Germany where Johan found it and
imported it to the Netherlands. This particular model (and especially the
engine (Corvette 350 LT1) is the legend in police cars up until today. Ask
any cop (who served with this car @ their disposal) and they will tell you
this is the best/fastest cruiser ever and was there for the most common
cruiser of it's time. Many officers were disappointed when this model was
discontinued. It took a lot of time and energy to restore this car in
technical and cosmetic aspects before it was ready to be reviewed for a
Dutch registration. In Sept '04 the registration was a fact so now it has
Dutch plates. Now that the car is allowed on the Dutch streets and roads the
rest of the restoring could be finished. The decals and striping was applied
as well as the warning equipment like light bar and siren. Other items
like: spotlight and Setina cage were also installed. Even though it's
looking very good there are still some details that either need work of need
to be added. For example: the NYPD Highway Patrol used 'Mc Dermott Hi-rise'
light bars as addition on their cruisers. This is something not easily found
in Holland but we have hope of getting one someday so it can also be added.
Besides the usual parades etc were this cruiser is also used for, it has also starred in music Video clips and several other not so ordinary activities. Also check johan's own site at: www.johanwiegman.nl (dutch site)
